Noel here again! Do you know that feeling where you’re somewhere and that place was so awesome you didn’t know where to start exploring? Well, I certainly felt that way while going through the photos of Ira and Ellyn’s wedding. Each shot, each moment seemed to be a keeper! It was totally hard to sort through them and pick the ones to put on this blog. I wasn’t really that successful at keeping it at a lower count, because these photos are around 160 plus. Haha. XD Ira and Ellyn came to me last year to get a photographer that would understand them: they weren’t the usual, cheesy kind of couple, and they think doing dramatic shots was… a little dramatic. XD
If you’ve browsed through their guestbook (and if not, then browse through by clicking this link!), you’d know that they totally consider themselves the complete opposite of one another. Ellyn drives fast, Ira drives slow. Ellyn likes swimming, Ira would prefer to sunbathe. Ellyn likes drinking Johnny Walker, Ira likes his fruit shake. Yeah, that’s the stuff. XD
But what makes them click, you ask? Well, both are actually self-admitted weird people. Oh, just like us at Quirky Creatives! Haha. Want to hear all their weird ideas? Well, I can’t remember them all, but I did hear a lot during our pre-production such as:
– At the reception, they wanted to place themselves at the center of the reception area and have their table rotating so that they could see everybody during the reception program
– They wanted a smoke machine for Ellyn’s entrance during the wedding ceremony
And some ideas that actually pushed through were:
– The entrance song of the entourage at the reception was “Eye of the Tiger”
– Ira and Ellyn ran in slow motion during their entrance at the reception
– Their onsite video by Jake Olaso would use the song “Barbra Streisand”.
Actually, I wanted my input on this craziness also, being as Quirky Creatives is THE premiere brand for tasteful craziness after all, but my ideas such as Ira bringing his weapons collection and incorporating it into the shoot, or Ira doing parkour was all not possible (the weapons, DUH, and Ira wasn’t comfortable doing parkour in his suit and shoes).
I think the best part about hanging out with Ira and Ellyn back then was hearing that Ira had been in 3 car accidents (no, I’m not happy he got in 3 accidents! @_@ that was like… wow), and in one accident where he had slight memory loss, he was asked who was the love of his life, and he answered Ellyn. That was one of their best “awww” moments.
The great thing about shooting these two, and their families and their friends was that they were ALL GAME! No one was a downer or wet blanket; they let us push them and make them do various poses, with all understanding of the art that we do only at Quirky Creatives. They weren’t afraid to act silly. They were just themselves, and because of that, we all totally enjoyed ourselves. I just love it when people are proud that they’re different, you know? :) That’s the kind of attitude we like at QC.
Enjoy the 160 plus photos!
Congratulations again Ira and Ellyn! :D You guys rock! You made it so hard for me to choose photos! See you again soon! God bless!
